So Winchesters went looking for Kevin, the prophet. He escaped from the demons, and he's found a way to destroy them all, forever. The search for this final solution sets up the central thrust of the season. That, and the revelation that Dean left Castiel in Purgatory, and teamed up with a vampire named Benny to get out.
Last night's episode starts with Kevin wanting to check in on his mom. She's being watched by demons, but the brothers rescue her and convince Kevin to take them to the demon nuke. Somehow the Roman god Pluto has gotten his hands on it, and it's being sold at a mystical auction (also on the docket: Mjolnir). Crowley shows up. Mom bids her soul for the tablet. Pluto and Crowley double-cross everyone. Kevin and his mom run away because he can't help the brothers now that they don't have the tablet.
This was a classic episode of Supernatural. Great interactions between the brothers. Great appearance by Crowley. We get to meet another faction of angels. Basically, if you've stayed on the Supernatural train up till now, it looks like Season 8 is going to hold up to the show's track record. If you've never watched before, you'll be so lost after 150 episodes that it would be hopeless to start now. Try Netflix.
